Flea Market Score.
Flea Market Score.
Purchased a Vintage Starrett Clamp for the princely price of $5 at the local flea market, possibly belonged to a tool maker of a bygone era.
Gave it a home, made the swivel stand for it, will be handy to hold small parts.
Starrett list price is $186 a pair, not cheap.

It is a nice find. Very precise little vise.

Re: Flea Market Score.
Very nice. I love a good score but I haven't had one in a while.

I believe (on other another forum) an appropriate response would "You suck!" In other words, "Great find!" Diligence and patience pays off.
Re: Flea Market Score.
There is something else about those. I should have looked before typing. They were made to precision and matched so that, so a pair or more could hold work inside a larger vise. If you have one, good for you and that one has the inside block.
It is not for me to know why it is mounted to a swivel ball mount, yet I can understand many possibilities.

Re: Flea Market Score.
I think I would sell that on Ebay, put part of the money toward a much cheaper vise that will do the exact same thing, and pocket the difference.
