Searching for 1/4” serrated lug studs

Post by Glenn Brooks »

Hello All,

We are in need of some 1/4” x 1.5” lug studs - similar to these (but half the diameter).

https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/65130/10002/-1

The original lugs are 75 years old and have all failed due to end of life metal fatigue. They all sheared in half in the nmiddle. They were used to bolt a fairly sizable hydraulic motor to a flange, affixed to an old 1944 Vintage Cummins diesel electric motor in one of the Hawaii Railway’s road switchers. No one on the island has anything close to the right size...

We probably need a dozen or so replacement Fasteners - do to the possibility of the same application failing on the three or so other installed motors that are still in service.

Any leads about who to contact to buy new studs would be much appreciated.
