I did not even consider modifying a Woodruff cutter. Is a possibility if the shank length allow for collet depth and reach across all the fins.

Hi, Small slitting saws are used for undercutting mica in motor commutators. Available from supplies to motor rebuilders, EIS for example, but they have a large minimum order. Or did the last time i looked, may be others. We had some IIRC were HS, unfortunately destroyed in a fire. Regards, Earl
