Another possible option...

They take PayPal. I’ve purchased from them before and been happy.

I must be really bad at searching. I spent a little time searching there and didn't see that. I think I was too focused on searching for one thing or something. I dunno. I already ordered from McMaster. I'll get a foot of gear stock and can turn the ends down to fit. I need to look up the spacing now since the hole is pretty wallered out. You can really see how much it moved and how much the diameter changed.

Dave--

I love the word "wallered." I grew up in the deep south on the Texas Gulf Coast. A lot of stuff got wallered out down there. When I moved to the midwest, I used the term as in 'just waller it out a little . . . then it'll fit'.

I'll look back in on this thread to find out how the ice cream turns out.

Well, the ends of the new gear have been turned down for a few weeks now. I need to case harden it, but haven't had the time to mess with it more. I also still need to clamp the other half of the housing on the mill table and do some xy measurements to find out where the hole is supposed to go. In a perfect world, I'd say in the middle of that boss (from the outside) or the middle of that pocket (from the inside). Being die cast, that's probably pretty accurate. But I'd still like to know for sure.

When it's done, you can come have some ice cream! Hmmm... actually, the rest of the maker is at my aunt's in Baldwin City. Well, maybe I'll save ya some!

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band had a song called Fishin' in the Dark. I recall Mom loving the part of that song where they said "crick".
