They are fine to a point. There is a lot of heavy motor hanging off the gearbox. The mounting flange was cast iron and fractures. The Worm wheel is shot. Has someone gone down this road and knows about this ?
The plate or fixture between the motor and gearbox was replaced by steel and remarkable work. Alas, not soon enough. As the old plate cracks, the heavy motor leans and the steel worm cores out the brass wheel.
