Congratulations on a wonderful purchase! The tools were definitely worth the money you paid. I have come across vernier calipers on which the marks were applied to the metal with paint. Needless to say, the markings were erased very quickly and the caliper became rubbish? And one ordered from Aliexpress, it was stated in the description "stainless steel", but it came in fact PLASTIC !!! The money was returned, I complained about the seller as a fraud. But the very fact of buying such rubbish just kills me.

Thanks Kay,

Yes, the nicest thing about these is that they were made in a time when made in Germany /Japan meant exactly that.

I see now that "Swiss made" only needs to account for 60% Swiss manufacturing

Just sold the 600mm Helios vernier for more than it cost to get all the callipers so doing well put off the deal.

Also made a box for the large Mitutoyo calliper over the weekend ImageImage
