Does anyony remember the link to a company that offred a round milling cutter that used a fustrum (round) insert? The cutter was quite unique and the inserts were 2 sided with 16 surfaces (I think). This is the company's only line. Several sizes with several weldon shank sizes.

Thanks
TerryW

That would be Rotary Tech, the manuf of Metal Master Rotary cutters. If your looking for their specials they can be very hard to find, as they are not listed on a "Specials" page. You just have to go to the page of prices on the family of the type cutters your interested in and see if there are some prices that are a lot lower than usual or the other prices, and thats their specials price. Sometimes buy not always they list it in red print. http://www.rotarytech.com
A frustum is a section of a cone IIRC. I have the older style and they index without the use of notches built into the inserts, and are as adjustable in a much finer graduation, but the notch type certainly has its advantages.

Harbor Freight had one, Phase II has one, http://www.phase2plus.com/littlehog.htm , I think that Wholesale tool
offered a set as well.
Don't know if this is quite what you're looking for since it uses inserts that are cylindrical, I think, but I guess technically
that would be a frustrum with a 0 degree (or would it be 90) side.

The ones I have come from Rotary Tech and have 12 positions/side for a total of 24 cutting positions/insert.

They give a great surface finish!
