Bill, by "mutant bread of seals" would you be talking of the type best toasted and slathered with butter?
I'm only glad there was no talk of wanton dispatching of leak preventing devices.

Steve--

Years ago--when that picture of me was taken that I use in my profile--we went to Monterey, CA, for an educational conference. One evening my wife and I and some friends were taking the long walk down to a very nice restaurant, enjoying the views and wildlife in the bay as we strolled. There were a lot of sea lions and various sea birds.

The maitre d' was haughty and introduced us to an even haughtier waitress. She gave us this scpiel about all the marine life and how important all of it was to the eco system and how fortunate we were to have the opportunity to see it up close and on and on and on. I finally got sick of it. In my best lecture-hall, drop dead serious voice, I asked, "Are they all on the menu?"

She turned red, then turned and left. Eventually, another waitress took our order. No seals were on the menu.

ps Spelling was never a strong point. I only taught it. I could never actually do it.

I think this thread has gone rogue...

Looking at Jose's tool:
Jose Rivera wrote:The ideal tool would be this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2426wt_849
I notice that the range of materials it can be used on includes " Copper, Aluminum, ABS, Acrylic, PVC, Nylon, Resin, Majority of plastics, Wood, Fibre glass, Carbon"

All fairly soft stuff, no mention of steel (which is what I would be interested in). I don't know if this has something to do with the shape or the unspecified grade of carbide.

I wonder if these would be better for steel: http://cgi.ebay.com/140404965092?

Sometimes these things happen. (Points for naming the movie containing that line. MORE points for naming the actor.) Often the best ideas spring from off-topic, "rogue" meanderings. When people have the opportunity, now and then, to express themselves freely among friends without regard to topicality, great things can happen.

Or, it can degenerate into . . . :)

Good. Then my mill's max of 2950 rpm shouldn't put too much strain on them. :)

Make an adapter to hold a dremel in your mill spindle. DON'T turn on the mill motor

I have one of these for my CNC BP

That's a good idea. A Dremel on the spindle--probably mounted on the custom spindle mounting accessory I built long ago--would be great. Thanks!

Here's some other ideas for spindle mounted devices:

Scroll down the page beyond the first more expensive item.
