greetings twin,

I have had a lathe for forty years and i learn something new every time i come on this site. Just ask a question even vaguely related to making anything and someone on here has done it. It is amazing. You will find people here are real helpful, sometime opinionated, but never mean spirited. Be sure to send in pictures of what you are doing, or your ship and ship mechanics (No top secret stuff)

Hello Twin. Great to have you aboard. :) That lathe is quite a find, different in many respects from that size seen here.

I've been told that it's not the size that counts! it's what you do with it!! ;-)

A motto is "a proper tool for a proper job". Your machine looks like a Colchester of a model I've never seen before, the main clue being the base has that strong arced area like her larger (sisters, if you will) of Clausing Colchesters. The controls have nice features that the Asian ones lack. Plz pardon if i go on a bit to another question; The cart upon which it is shown is actually a mobile elevation table, right ? That is so neat to be able to load to a bench. The lathe is so stout, you could clamp a few corners and use it that way. Yes.Some bracing and then it could be taken down in minutes to free up the mobile table.

Hello Twin. I left North Wales, Buckley, in 1954 and have been back many times. There is a hobby machinist in Prestatin goes by the name of Aboard Epsilon, you will find him on the Home Shop Machinist site, sorry moderator but just trying to guide Twin to a fellow machinist in the area. Peter

Unfortunately some boards have a policy against promoting other forums. Usually commercially sponsored boards.
