I remember watching a motorcycle build-off where Indian Larry's shop made twisted parts for either the frame or the forks. I forget. They had some 1"-square steel, and one end of it was held in a vise. The other end was mounted in some sort of twisting tool, sort of like a giant die holder, and several guys were applying torque. Between the guys and the vise there was a man with a torch, heating the metal so it would twist. I was amazed that they could make it come out looking nice, with twists of regular length.

The first machine in this video looks like a much easier solution.

These machines are not new, they have been around for some time. Still nice to watch though.
