I installed a Teco L510-202-H3-U on my 12x36. I bought the package deal with a Reliance 1.5hp motor from Dealers Electric. I think the VFD alone is about $130.

I'm very happy with it. Installation and setup was simple. The manual was well written and easy to follow. My particular model can not be fitted with an external braking resistor. My lathe stops more than quick enough using just the deceleration time setting though.

I found a cheaper VFD from Hitachi. http://www.clrwtr.com/PDF/Hitachi/Hitac ... Drives.pdf

Thanks a lot for your input.
