Mystery.

Post by armscor 1 »

Hi guys, Aussie living in Philippines, my partners son witnessed 4 large Lathes in good appearance arriving on a semi near his aunties place, they unloaded and then proceeded to Lance them into sizeable pieces,.weighed the pieces and into the skip.
Is this an anti competion manoeuvre maybe?

Stolen for scrap?

Large lathes can have strange economics. Large shops usually have financing and contracts, and buy new machines.
Small independent shops can't house them and rarely have need of a large machine. Demand is small.

I used to live in India; new shops were opening all the time, financed by dubious bank loans. They'd usually go under in short order, the tooling auctioned off for almost nothing. No one was sure if the machinery was even usable and often even the auctions were rigged.
