I RECENTLY PURCHASED A LATHE AT AUCTION. I AM NEW TO THIS HOBBY AND KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT MACHINING.

THE LATHE HAS A PLATE ON THE FRONT THAT READS "HARTFORD 1408 DL" THERE IS ANOTHER PLATE THAT READS "KINGKONG". WEIGHT IS APPROX 4000 TO 5000 LBS. SWING IS 14" AND ABOUT 36" TO 38" BETWEEN CENTERS. I THINK IT WAS MADE IN TAIWAN.

I SURE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A MANUAL.

I may be mistaken but you might want to take a look at this eBay posting advertising new Birmingham machines, like yours I believe, and they're in Harrison NJ. Closer than Taiwan!

Sorry, I think I am mistaken - your photp is not a high enough resolution for me to see very clearly. They're quite different when I squint. - Gerry

I WILL TRY TO SEND A BETTER PICTURE

THIS MAY NOT HELP. I AM NOT GOOD AT SIZING THE PICTURES.

THE LATHE HAS A SIX JAW BERNERD CHUCK IF THAT HELPS.

THANKS,
WILLIAM
