Seal Killer,

You could use that clear film they use on cars to prevent chips* (A word with many meanings here?)

I got a latheguard on ebay that I just got done mounting. Will see if it helps or just gets in the way* (OK pun intended!)

I like that lathe guard idea. But, I would want it mounted on the carriage, I think.

My lathe came with a chuck guard. Gave it an honest try, was always in the way and didn't stop coolant spray. It finally ended up in the recycle pile.
