Greetings from a happy man,
Today my two Saturday friends came out here to fix something on the puter so I could attach/send pics on this old thing. Someone on here wanted to see the Cinci mill and I made a mistake of telling them I got the taper attachment for the 10L S.B. lathe. "Lets go see it" was one of thems next words.

Now, here comes the good part...I was telling them about the problem I was having with it and one of them standing at the back end of it said "I see whats wrong"! The previous owner had put a new thread dial on it (apparently so he could sell it, and I already fixed the old one) and the set screw that holds the gear on at the bottom of the new one was too long and was catching on the lead screw and making the lathe travel with the lead screw. Can you believe that??? I felt dumb all day long because of this simple little fix. It's fun getting older...smile! Oh well, as the old man used to say, don't worry about the mule goin blind...just load the wagon. Cheers and you can all call me a dummy. ohfred1941

PS I didn't get the puter fixed, sorry, next time maybe.

Hey Fred, at least you have the problem solved. I used to work with an older guy who was pretty smooth at his trade and whenever I'd do something wrong he'd say " don't worry about it, ain't no use bein' stupid if you don't show it every once in a while". So I did. :D
