"Antique" Carbide Inserts

The inserts in the pic are some of the styles we were using around '81 & '82 when I was an apprentice. Most of my time on the mills was spent squaring up blocks and plates for progressive dies w/ face cutters. I don't remember using any smaller endmills w/ inserts, pretty much HSS roughing & finishing endmills.

I'm not sure what we were using for carbide inserts when turning.
