PM932M Mill/Drill machine

Post by Tim Horn »

Has anybody who has one of these (or similar) had trouble with the main electric motor? I have one not even a year old yet, maybe 20 hours on it. and the motor stopped working. it's not the capacitors have changed those. just bad motors???? the company is going to replace it no charge, just wondering.

I don't have any input on your mill in particular but I can say this ... ever since I built a phase converter and used my first three phase motor I have learned to very strongly dislike single phase motors , and cheap Chinese motors go straight to the top of the list to hate .
I've replaced almost every single phase motor in my shop , the last two holdouts are my drill press and bench grinder . The drill press will get probably get swapped out if I run across a motor that will fit .
And the next grinder I buy will be three phase .
