Have 2 machines I'm looking to get information on

Post by DiegoA »

My mom's friend asked me to research these 2 pieces of equipment to determine their value. Does anyone have any suggestions/tips on where I can get more information? These pictures show the extent of the only information I have right now. Thank you!

Looks to be a couple of vertical mills ,a Bridgeport series 2 and a Doall. The Bridgeport is a much heavier version than the normal BP. The Doall looks to be about the same size machine. Depending on your location the value will vary ,but not under power and with the rust starting as is $200-500 each. Those will not have much interest from the home/hobbist guys ,too big and heavy . And if in a area where there are many used machines available you might have to give them away just to get rid of them.

The Doall is made in Spain and may be one of the orphaned Annayak's. No parts, even Doall can't get parts. Nice machine when they are working.

You should let us know where you are, as that can be the difference between getting $1,000 for them and having to pay someone to haul them away.

If you can't sell them whole, you may be able to sell the head and possibly the table. The head can be shipped, although it's not going to fit in a flat-rate box.

I paid $700 for one of the Bridgeport Series II machines -> 25 years ago.

It had a 2" x 4" table with a defunct NC controller but good screws.

As mentioned, it is a very large machine and won't fit the average basement shop.

I had to put a small platform in front of mine to make it workable

The head won't fit any other Bridgeport models except the Series II
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
