Can anyone recommend a Bradford Milling Machines. Appears to be maybe a 1980’s vintage Bridgeport clone, in decent shape, and well cared for. Curious what kind of a reputation they have? No idea yet what the asking price is.

Thanks
Glenn

I'm not the least bit familiar with them, Glenn. Looks like few are, if any.

Bill, I don’t think so, but Didn’t look at it that closely first time around. The son of the owner is out of town for a few days now. I plan to go take a detailed look when he returns next week.

What I do remember is the Bradford name seems to be cast into the headstock in a manner similar to the Bridgeport name cast into the headstock housing of some units.

Can you confirm if Bradfords and milports are the same physical machine? If so, it might be quite easy to buy replacement parts from Bridgeport suppliers. I’ve seen several older posts that suggest this, but no one has confirmed this for sure.

Thanks
Glenn

even if they are the 'same machine' be careful about expecting parts to be 'interchangeable'.

Some of these critters start out as the same casting(s) but have no guarantee that all (or any) of the other parts are the same.
