Gorton 9j Motor Plate

Post by architect »

I have just bought a Gorton 9J Vertical mill. I want to get an inverter. My motor name plate is gone.

Can anyone send me a picture of their nameplate?

Might be a good idea to post a picture of your machine. The 9J was built over a long period of time, and may have been powered by more than one motor, which offers the remote possibility of getting the wrong information. A picture might narrow down what your machine has, assuming there were options.

While I'm not up to speed on motors, we have a couple readers on this board who appear to dispense expert advice. If you provide them with enough information, you'll get a reliable answer.

There is/was a Gorton forum on Yahoo. Lots of info and links there. I have a Gorton 1-22 so no help on the 9.
