Wiring Foward Rev Switch

Post by angelo49 »

Hi,
I bought this Central Machinery Mill #35845 1999 last week.
Looked at running, agreed to buy it but couldn't take it that day.
Weighs over 600 lbs and had to be disassembled to get it out of the basement.
When I came back a couple of days later he had everything apart. OK

The 1hp motor was seperated from the switch .
The 4 wires coming from the motor, RED, BLUE, GRN, YELLOW / GRN
were removed from the foward-reverse switch, leaving the hot, neutral, and grnd
in the switch.

Using the inner set of numbers 1-2, 5-6, 9-10
Only 4 lugs # 9, 1, 6, and 2 in the switch are loose. That's where the 4 colored wires were connected.
The neutral wire is disconnected and I don't know where it goes.

The #5 lug in the switch is tight, so I'm thinking the neutral wire can only reach # 9 or 1

The motor has no wiring diagram at all.
RED = 9
BLUE = 1
GREEN = 6
YELLOW/GREEN = 2

FORWARD CONNECTS 10, 9, 5, and 2
REVERSE CONNECTS 10, 9, 5, and 6
I don't know where the Neutral gets connected. I'm thinking the #9 lug.......but?
