Thanks for the information Harold. I'll definitely look into changing coolants and methods. That's one nice thing about being here, I learn something every time I log on.

Regards
Ron

I am assuming you do the round work on a lathe. Beautiful stuff by the way. You might consider a Tormach PCNC1100 for what you are trying to do.

If you would like to see what one will do, you can send me a couple of your parts with a CAD file in a .stp, parasolid x_t or a .dxf format and I'll run them for you. That will give you a pretty good idea what the machine is capable of doing. Not to worry, I don't want to compete with you. I'm now a fisherman. I just want to show you what the Tormach is capable of doing.

I have a PCNC1100 in my garage that I use to make parts for remote control race boats and cars, and I love it. As a former Haas owner, I can tell you it will do anything a Haas would do and it didn't cost $75,000.00. But it does take a little longer. The Haas had 20 HP and the Tormach has 1.5.

Thanks for the kind words and offer MDM, for now I'm going to stick to the manual mode as mentioned before, that's part of what draws clients in for what ever reason. They enjoy knowing it was hand crafted (if that's possible to say when using machines) as opposed to CNC produced.
