Hello My Friends
Hereis a brief update as I haven't posted for a while. the dummy feed water heater and the shrouding that fits around it. From here the boiler jacket will proceed towards the cab.

Hello My Friends
Here is a bit of an update on the Streamliner. The boiler jacket is mostly done. In the top photo you can see that the second course has been fitted up and there is a card stock pattern in place for the third course. Normally these would be the first and second courses, but this engine being streamlined had jacketing around the smoke box, which is not in place in these photos. The second photo shows the third course in place and the last photo fourth and wrapper over the fire box. The owner of the engine just delivered some beautiful stainless steel rods for the engine that he made with his CNC mill. They represent the unusual roller bearing rods that this engine had. Photos to come.
See you in the funny pages…

Hello My Friends
Here are the rods Doug made for his engine. Stainless! Very nice. They have been getting the beauty treatment. Just a a bit of polishing. Flexible sanding drums, scotch brite, rubberized abrasives, and lastly, our old friend the buffing wheel. Nast dirty work ,but the pay off is worth it.

Hello My Friends
Here are a couple photos of progress on the Hudson. The cab floor is made in several pieces so that they can be removed to access plumbing and such under the floor. Also a photo of the cab side just held up for a look. This cab is interesting as it has an angled front and roof line. More to come.
