1.5" Kozo Heisler

Post by TimothyG94 »

Hey I just thought I would share my build here. I've been working on this on and off since late 2015. I've been building in order of the book so far.
I'm a full time cnc machinist and have access to the machines in my spare time.
Most of the parts are done both CNC and manually. It depends what I need and whats available to use at the time.
Hopefully will keep this updated regularly.

Hopefully you all enjoy.
Sorry there's not really a pattern on how and when these pictures are taken. Feel free to ask me anything!

Great to see your Heisler build!
My favorite locomotive, having restored and engineered a 3-truck West Coast Special in the 1980s.
Keep the progress and photos coming, please.

Not currently. The crankcase is currently a little more finished than the most recent picture with the slitting saw but It I wont bother taking any more pictures until I finish the case and maybe the crankshaft boxes.

In my experience on my shay, take about twice as many pictures during construction as you think you should. They come in handy later on when you're trying to remember how you did something.
