NYC h10a

Post by pollockmarine »

So fellow steamers I have finished my research and am about to start the journey of building a NYC H10a loco using Rail road supply castings and drawings as well as the original blueprints brought on line given the slow post system I expect to be rendering the frames and cross braces soon to be laser cut out and cnc milled. Any advice references or information will be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Brendan

I’m in the process of building one as well but for P&LE a subsidiary line of New York Central. There is a gentleman Robert Swift that sells plans for the elesco feed water heater that works. I also bought prints from Roger Goldman for the trailing truck booster engine.

I love the water-jet cutting technology.
I used to have one in my Univ. of Washington shop, with a 4' x 4' cutting bed.
Very useful, although complex to operate and maintain.

Waterjet is a great process. I had my boiler sheets cut with waterjet and they came out perfectly!
