And the work continues on the cylinders... Almost there after several days in the shop! Sneaking away now and then for the kids Basketball or Soccer games and then in between cooking food on the grill. Always something!
Re: Angry ANGUS
Attempting to make the frame actually look like something.... More on this later with some additional explanation.

Lookin' good! Question though, why do the small wheels appear as different colors? Also, there appears to be some sort of black material between one wheel and the axle, what is this?

Hey David,
Good eye! The difference in color was from the heat to shrink them on the axles. And the black goop is the excess loctite retaining compound from the one fit that didn’t quite make the shrink tolerance.... . They will all look pretty once I buff then out and wipe up that extra goo.
The drivers are specifically set up for a press or shrink fit on one side and then a loctite fit on the other to aid in assembly and quartering. I will drill and pin them after that operation is complete.
Cheers,
RM

Wrapped up the killer trucks from Jim Abrams today and started the overall mock-up of my SP’ish Vanderbilt tender. I’ll be using 6” Sch-10 stainless for the tank that I picked up at the local scrap yard... The end bell is a butt weld pipe cap that I ordered from McMaster Carr. I think it’s going to look just right!

Cross posting my Alcohol burner pics. The real commentary on this is on the main forum post. This is as close as I can interpret to the Master Steve Bratina’s design that has been so successful is several of his 3/4” locomotives. I’m not done yet but I managed to get pretty far today.
Cheers,

Hello My Friends
Great to see the 3/4" builders in action. Robert is making great progress on his project. As to alcohol burners there was a very nice 3/4" scale Pioneer 2-4-0 at Waushakum. It was a tiny little engine and was pulling two people most of the day. You could couldn't smell the alcohol when it went by. Seems like a great way to fire a small loco.

Very nice, making great progress. Those are really pretty driver castings. Where did they come from?
