A boiler, some rods, a bit of piping, throw a fire in the box and off to the races. You're making more progress than Uncle Pete.

Bleh......I'm in a funk. the lock down clamps are taking forever. waiting for stuff to come........

I need to take a side line this weekend and make a couple reversing quadrants.

I suppose the third piece of wrapper can get mounted and then make the patterns for cutting the wrapper.....and the smoke box pipe for the access cover to the throttle assembly.

mulling around ideas for making the worthington pump and air compressor mounts. hard to see exactly how it goes from the photos....so I will be filling in the blanks freelance.

Sigh.......

afternoon toonsters.....

the T nuts are machined...a lil deburring yet to be done....and weld in the studs.

the straight clamps are done.......the off set clamps need some trimming and then weld them together.

the T rails need to be mounted down....

I think you get the idea of how they work. the toe clamp hooks the driver thru the spoke slot....level the clamp withe the rear jack screw......lock down the large nut. loco will not move at all. the designer, Paul Keiser, has been using them for 4-5 years...with several cross country trips...and the big 9100 ( the sister to my 3464) did not budge.

tomorrow it's to home depot for another sheet of plywood to make the tender rail board. they will be joined with 6 4 foot 2 x 4s under the rail boards.

Pamela,

Your machinist background has popped up with these holddowns. Looks like you stole them from the machine shop. LOL

BTW more beautiful work. You are truly an artist metalsmith!
