Gary, The truck looks great. My GS-4 trailing truck is fabricated from steel by tig weld and silver solder, so I can definitely appreciate your efforts. It looks like you added bits of silver solder to the sides of the retainers where you milled the grooves to create a fillet, nice touch. How did you make out on finding your stainless fasteners?

G'Day Vic & Dick thanks for your comments yes the bogies are quite time consuming one part at a time & hopefully
one day it will be in steam long way to go yes i have bought the s/s caps from ebay the bigest expence was the freight
they were for my freelance loco which i built some years ago the caps are for the dome plate the orignal retaing screws were only steel i thought it better to replace them before they are to rusted, off on holidays tomorrow will
be back in the W/S in 3 weeks

G'Day all not a lot of progress since going on holidays, while on holidays we decided to
upgrade to new larger RV with built in shower & toilet (just to keep powers to be happy)
when i got it home i had to raise the garrage roof to 3.3m to accomidate it which has kept me out of the workshop & away from the loco build all finished now & some progerss on the r-class build

G'Day all just finished the tender bogie axel keeps, all was going well until i used the slitting saw to part them off in doing so i forgot to allow for the thickness of the blade
which made them to thin not enough metal to mill the stiffening web on the bottom
rather than remake them i silver soldered on a web, moral of the story is to measure twice & cut once
