Charlie is the dry pipe pictures made of stainless steel?
Hey Dave.

That is the plan right now. A schedule 80 NPT coupler welded into the tube with all the inside parts made of stainless.

How are you doing out there. Hope you and your family are safe and healthy.

I was able to get together with Pontiacguy who loaded my car down with steel supplies. While I was there (always staying 6 feet apart) he gave me a demonstration on drilling and reaming the tube sheets.

Back at home I put the finishing touches on wiring in my welder. I am putting together the material for a 3 by 4 welding table for use just outside the basement door.

We had ordered a number of things together to keep the cost down. One was the steel for the steam domes on my two boilers and a couple of his projects.

Also finished the machine work on the Throat Sheet

I am putting off the beveling of the edges as in the welding class I am taking they teach beveling with a track mounted plasma cutter. I have been invited to use it once I am proficient with it. I believe I have enough to keep me busy until then.

Tomorrow Project if the storm does not flood the basement.

Having laid out the Firebox door, stay bolts, and clean outs; I am now working on the placement of the throttle valve and push pull rod.

Using Solidworks to construct an assyembly as I go to get clearance ideas. Before anyone asks, not planning on using a massive Schedule 80 fitting on the valve. Just a test fit.

Charlie,
You should ask Harold to change the title to "Converting a Baldwin LYN to a Baldwin 0-4-4", since that is the goal now. :D

Still working on your Southern 4-6-2 as well? That was a neat build log to read through.

When I retired I read the book on how to declutter your life. Everything that was not NG 7.5 was offered up for sale. They are all gone.
