John,
There's a hinge of sorts at the bottom of the axle box cover, If I understand correctly. It struck me, last night, which part is it that hinges down, on the prototype: the little piece below the axle, or the big piece that surrounds the whole axle and bearing ?
BTW, well along re-fabricating the axle box covers.

It's not a hinge - it's a cotter to retain the cellar.JohnHudak wrote:I saw that, and I don't know... Maybe Marty can answer that question..?

Interesting choice of material. Did you cast them? They sure are pretty.

Re: Kozo K-27 build thread
Dale, I haven't put mine in yet, and I'm just going to eyeball them... All they do is hold the bracket for the water lines, so I don't think they're critical... We can always modify the brackets to get them where they need to be if necessary..dalemast wrote:Todd they are brass . John do you have a measurement on the two hole on the rear frame . Re: Kozo K-27 build thread
Thought I would add some visual interest to the journal boxes. Made dummy cellars and dummy bearings. I think the round head machine screw at the top will be ok - will not interfere with the roller, but we'll see. May yet add a pin through the bottom of the surround piece and the cellar. Once again, we'll see.
