Mountaineer,

I hope to finish making the six "daughter" patterns from the master mold today, and have mounted to the match plate by tomorrow. Either Monday or Tuesday I will be going to the foundry, and once there, hope to get an good enough estimate on the wheels to start taking orders.

Thanks for info Steve. Was hoping to have the wheel sets and frame done before Xmas. Glad this may be possible.

Sorry for the cross-posting from other K-27 build sites, but we would like to get the word out. Here is a photo of the components of the pattern plate for the K-27 wheels. After skimming the rear of the daughter patterns today, the plate will be assembled and go to the foundry tomorrow for production. Parts, from bottom to top, are the master pattern, the mold, the gates, and the six daughter patterns.

Once we have the pricing and delivery established, we will have a pre-production special. Free Priority flat-rate shipping (or a credit toward foreign) for those who buy an eight wheel set before we actually pick up the wheels from the foundry. Notice will go up on the Marketplace board.

Hi Charlie,

Thank you for your support while I am learning this new trade! Hopefully the Congress will allow me to go back to my other one soon.

The allignment pins are from Hines Flask. I got them from the foundry when they modified my last plate pattern for their flasks.

Regards,

Here's a pic of the just finished cranks, next will be a light glass beading, then pressing in the pins...
Don't know what to do yet about painting, already there was a light spot of rust here and there...

John, they're too clean and pretty. The real ones have been banged up, burned with a torch, and just flat hammered!

Marty, keep the pictures coming ! It's very interesting to look at the original stuff while building the model.

Just got the November/December issue. Couldn't wait to draw it up! A little CNC goes a long ways
