Hello My Friends
I have been enjoying the progress on the J. Your workmanship is superb, there is no better. The trailing truck fabrication was quite a puzzle. Cut, bend, weld on the dotted line, beautiful!

Hey Jack,

thank you for the warm recognition.
Still a lot work to do on the truck, suspension, axle compensation and so on.
We carry on.

All the very best
Chris

Hello steamchris,
You and your father as team did a very fine job, indeed!
Just one look to that type of trailer, when it will be finished after some more work. We are happy, both classes A and J hadn't their trailers been equiped with a brake
Carry on!

Hi folks, after finally getting a CAD program I was able to make the J characteristic nose. I did not want to do the work of a sheet metal construction, so I opted for a CNC construction from scratch. To be able to soak the raw material on the mill, I had to prick a groove. Then it went to the processing of the back, here I had to make room for the smoke chamber door and an approach to the smoke chamber. Then I could stretch the part on the lathe and produce the sophisticated contour. The nose immediately adapted to the smoke chamber. The rear section is the support for the boiler cladding made of 1mm brass sheet metal.

Some Pictures....
