I've been tinkering with this for a while and figured I'd start this.

I'll have more info, pictures and drawings when I start assembling the sections.

This will be two engines. One will be electric and one will be steam.

The electric one was on wheels, but I've taken it apart to powder coat the pcs. Once I get the cylinders in place, I will catch the steamer up with it.

Here's my sketch so far and a picture of one of the drivers fresh from being coated.

Hi Harry - that's a good looking little locomotive. What are the dimensions? Driver and boiler diameter, cylinder size?

Marty,

Remember the Allen cylinders you sent me? That's what it's for. The cylinders on the model are a little bigger. The drivers are approx 8" and same stroke as mogul. 8" boiler. I'll have more dimensions soon. Off hand I think the front beam is 22" wide. The frame is built up like an Allen frame but with 3/4" square.

Once I figure out where and how the cylinders mount, I'll make a one pc frame for the steam engine......i think. I know people like those better, but I made the bar stock frame on a Saturday afternoon. So I may take the quick way out.

I'm hoping to have the steam chassis on wheels for spring. And you're my guy for the boiler!

These are the rear frame pcs that connect the top and bottom frame rails.

Did a little bit of drawing today after looking at the blueprints all night. This is the Allen valve gear turned around. And also made a bracket to adapt the cylinders.

Plus more general dimensions.

I guess if you have small legs! But I don't think I'll be able to fit in it. :(
