Not nearly enough information to give you a proper answer. How small is small,project size, accuracy required, budget, machine size, weight, power, new, used ? etc etc. A watch maker would have much different needs than say a farm owner so it's an impossible question to answer without knowing more. Hundreds of different brands of bench lathes in multiple sizes have been manufactured over the last 120 years and there still being made today from a few hundred dollars to well over 100k for the very best. Funny you haven't had someone post some information for you in the last 17 months though.

You need to specify a location.
You can do that in your profile, so it will always be there and people like me will stop asking for it.
A lathe across the country from you isn't as useful as one in the next county.
