Here's a place that I routinely check out and visit about every month or so.

http://www.hgrinc.com/

I bought my cnc Bridgeport from there for $1200

Hi John,

Do we need to form a support group for counseling?

Na, I have my addiction under control! so far.

I guess it would not help your addiction to buy a bigger place...

I'm headed to HGR one day this month, have not picked a date yet. Always a good time.

I'll never forget the time I went to one of Miami's only machine dealers, AM Metalmaq. They had a repainted Bridgeport with huge chunks missing from the table, equipped with Fred Flintstone's DRO: $4950.

I think the export market is so good here, they don't even try to sell anything to Americans. Business in South America must be good, if they can pay that kind of money for garbage.

I have often wished I were near HGR.

They used to haggle more. Now they have a system set up so they don't budge on prices until it gets marked down....then the more it gets marked down, the more they haggle.

I bought a really nice ratcheting Dake press for $180 last year. Two 6" kurts for $250 the year before.

Two cnc Bridgeports for $2k.

Lately it seems the prices start out way above what they're worth and you gotta be there at the right time, or it's gone.

I've been waiting for some servo motors to tinker with, but never seem to get em!

But someday I will :)
