Help identify this 2 1/2" scale pump

Post by Harlock »

A friend is trying to find out if this was a commercially available pump and if so from who. It came off of one of Harry Haas' engines but Harry doesn't remember where it's from either. (Harry has built a LOT of locomotives...) This is 2 1/2" scale.

Hi Mike,

I know what that pump is, I had most of one for years and wondered the same thing. While looking through a huge stack of old Live Steam Mags I saw something that looked quite familiar, this pump.

It is an Oberman and was made in water and air versions for use primarily on steam autos. The reference is October 1989 Live Steam, a multi-page spread with lots of drawings and text.

Hope this helps, Best regards, Mike

No it belongs to Ray Bejerum, who may or may not use it on his DSP&P #45.

I have a set of castings and drawings for that pump. I was told it was made in Atlanta but that may not be true.
