New Shop - Banning Locomotive Works LLC
Good afternoon all. I finally have the new shop set up. I have a few odds and ends to wrap up, mainly electrical for the new lighting. The website homepage is up. It has contact info on it. The rest of the site should be completed shortly. The facebook page has changed from JD Locomotive Works to Banning Locomotive Works as well.

Re: New Shop - Banning Locomotive Works LLC
Hi Jesse
Glad to hear that you are getting back to locomotive building. FYI my hudson is now in Jack's shop and he is working his magic on the beast. Check out Jacks build log.
While you were away I had to build a large scissor stand to hold and move the hudson so I could work on it. Building the scissor stand was a major project. Soon after picking up the Hudson from your shop I talked to Jack about taking on another Hudson project. He came down and took a close look at the project and was favorably impressed. I'm so lucky that NYC Hudsons are some of his favorite locomotives. Jack has other interests and he is busy with building a new railroad and shop at his new location plus building and developing his own accessory business.
I completed the brakes and rigging and as you may remember the plans leave much to the imagination. Jack had to do some modifications and the brakes and rigging are now installed. He has also solved the suspension rigging issues. While Jack is busy with boiler/smokebox details and jacketing I'm redoing the rods. You may remember that the rods we used were for the NYC J1 locomotives and I'm machining the correct rods for the roller bearing J3 from 303 SS. They are going to look fabulous on those disc drivers. The J1 rods I will put up for sale as they correct for the J1.
Wish you the best with the new business.
regards doug
