REUNITED AFTER 39 YEARS

Post by Trainman4602 »

I had the great pleasure of running my first locomotive the 4602. It is now owned by John and his son Jay Forsythe. It is pretty much in its original condition with a new boiler made to the same dimentions as the first boiler.

It ran extreamily well. John has not do anything to the running gear. It is as per I built it. The boiler went bad after twenty years of service, which is a good length of time for an all steel boiler.

Dan and I double headed with the 1361. This would be a union of the first locomotive that I build and the 17th built.

Who would have ever thought that when I started building the 4602 that I would be running it almost 40 years later and double heading with my son.

The first picture is of John on my right and his son Jay and the 4602

The next is of me and Dan on the 4602 about to leave the station.

The third is of me on the 4602 with Dan of the K4 making another high speed run on the PLS track.

The last picture was taken at the Finger Lakes club in 1978 with Ron Muldowney at the 4602 throttle with me as a passenger on the tender and that's Al Francis Sr. Standing.
WOW how time flies.

Thanks John and Jay for the opportunity to run it.
