Seriously, Pete? If one does not have machinist capability, is there a market resource for these?
I have seen them occasionally on eBay.

Yes, seriously!! If one does not have machinist capability in this hobby then one must engage in check book engineering. Find some one to make them for you.....

depends on what is inside.

it is a ball or
a needle tip plunger or
a plunger with O-rings?

What threads are on the ends?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

What threads are on the ends?
The treads for fitting to the cylinders would have to match the engine

The treads for the end plugs for the one inch scale the tread would be 10-32 and for the one and a half inch it would be 1/4 -28.

Being made out of brass this would be a very good beginner's project that could be done with a drill press and a small hobby lathe such as a Sherline.

In making the plugs it would give good practice in making single point lathe threads or you could simply silver solder a plug in the end

Another alternative would be to use a 90 degrees Zerk grease fitting and remove the spring from the inside.

sorry..

but the picture does not specify threads and I really cannot see INSIDE of the unit to tell what is going on.

I left my superman outfit at my last job...giggle...

Bill,

I think the "picture" Pete is referring to is the one indicated in his link he posted:

http://ibls.org/mediawiki/index.php?tit ... nder_Cocks

This picture, or drawing, in the link, does specify thread sizes for different scales and does show what is going on inside.

It's still just conjecture based on the picture. We cannot see the ends so we don't know if these are steam actuated or simple ball relief type. I don't see the hex plug on the end as in the drawing. Jesse Banning was selling the simple VB style (shown in the link) but not sure if he's doing them anymore. They look more like the Ben Nixon design that Bill has tossed around here a few times. I built a set for my A3 and love them. They are a o-ring shuttle design and use steam to keep them closed.
