Hello All,

Does anyone have any drawings or plans for a pilot mounted "butterfly" type snow plow?

See picture below.....looking to build one and install it on one of our locos.

Thanks in advance.
Anthony

Anthony,
That is a Colorado & Southern narrow gauge engine apparently.

This guy etched one in brass for a G scale loco.
A photo of the flat etching is in the article below. Maybe copy and enlarge it, transfer to
construction paper or cardboard and get to work?

Take care,

Those C&S butterfly plows were drawn up for an early Sn3 modelers guide. It was a softcover, designed to convince modelers to start into Sn3, so it was likely published in 1980-1984 I seem to remember It had Malcolm Furlow on the cover, but that could be wrong. Anyway, it had drawings of those plows laid flat along with many other drawings. It was either Kalmbach or Carstens.

I have that magazine in my shelf.
Do you mean Robert Sloan's Drawing on page 88?
It is not very detailed, isn't it?

Cheers!

One upon time, a snow storm hit Atlanta and Rich spent several hours that night making a snow plow to go on the front of the ballast cars. I have seen a piece of a video with John Shuck's dad and I think Bill Junior bucking snow. It had to be way back, as the loop wasn't even finished at the Old NGLS track. Anyhow, I think Richard made the plow from some pipe. You'd have to ask him.
