North Jersey Pressure Gauge Supplier
North Jersey Pressure Gauge Supplier
Hi All,
I'm thinking ahead to sourcing a water/air pressure gauge that goes to 400-600 psi for the purposes of hydrostatic testing. McMaster didn't seem to have what was required and some of the Ashcroft distributors don't appear to be in business anymore. Can anybody recommend a place?

I bought one of these through Ebay a couple of weeks ago for our hydro pump. Price was right, made in USA, decent sized face, and says it can be used for water and steam. Didn't compare calibration to another gauge, but worked fine. It arrived within a couple of days.

4-1/2 inch dial, 500 PSI gauge at Surplus Center. This would be perfect for your hydrostatic test rig.

Look for what is called a Test Gauge, they are generally about six inches in diameter and have a mirror gauge to illuminate parallax error in reading the gauge. if you plan to read steam pressure directly use a syphon to protect the gauge from steam.

Hi Howard,
Sounds good. Would that same syphon design allow me to use pretty much any air/water rated gauge for steam service?

Should be O.K.
The only time to be very careful is when you are working on oxygen service, high or low pressure.
Oxygen systems should only be handled by very qualified personnel.
Mistakes cause disaster

Howard,
Sounds good. If I have issues with my oxy regulator, it will go straight to praxair for repair. Same goes for the acetylene as well
