Where is this Locomotive today?

Post by Pat Fahey »

Hi All
I was going through some of my old photo's and found this. I have very little information on the engine.
The engine in the early 70's was on display in the museum car at Steamtown, in Vermont.
The information I have is this, engine #8 4-4-0 Builder (West) Date Build 1898 cylinders 2"+3" Driver size 10" Track gauge 9/1/2 "
According to the Guide to the Steamtown Collection reads like this, No.8 is a 4-4-0 built on the West coast around 1900. The engine was used in an amusement park but stored after the damage of the 1906 Earthquake. Restored in 1970 Typical of a Cap Stack eight wheeler used by the Southern Pacific RR.
Any Idea's where it is now?
