Santa Fe shop built valve hanger

Post by makinsmoke »

Not sure if that is the proper description.
I'm looking to convert a Santa Fe 1050 Class
Prairie from Baker valve gear to Walshaerts.
It's HO scale but I'm reaching out to everyone that might have info.

Specifically I'm looking for information on the shop built valve gear hangers. They were very unique and I haven't seen them anywhere else.
The bracket is a long tapered casting with one end bolted to the top of the cylinders. A triangular drop at the other end has a round hole
cast into it.

I will try to find a photo or two, but the 1050's when converted from compound to simple hand
many converted from Stephenson to Walshaerts so lots of examples are around. I know 1077 was so equipped.

Many thanks,
Brian
