Pioneer Valley Blow Down Meet

Post by LVRR2095 » Sun Oct 08, 2017 9:14 am

This weekend (Oct. 6th, 7th & 8th) is the annual blow down at Pioneer Valley Live Steamers at Southwick, Massachusetts.
I took my 3/4” scale center cab locomotive. This engine was built in 1963 by Lewis Bullock of Johnson City, New York. It was ideal (should say idle) for decades and last October it made a few laps at the blow down, but it had some teething issues. So this weekend was the first real workout the locomotive has had in many years and I was VERY happy with how things went. A few more little things have shown up and will be corrected over the winter. All things considered it was a very successful day.

I hate “auto correct” what I was trying to write was the locomotive was idle for decades!

Nice to see the engine out on the rails Keith. Did Jim ever come closer to the track or did he just stay by the tree?

Steve.....here’s Jim hauling the mail! Just like the Black Diamond Express roaring through Batavia, NY.

And people say the little 3/4” scale locomotives can’t keep up!
