flatcar brake rigging

I have a flatcar which has brakes only on the front truck. It is activated by pulling up on a wooden dowel attached to the rigging with a braided stainless steel cable.
I would like to put brakes on both ends, and maybe use a better actuator, like a lever.
I know I will need to rig up some levers to equalize the braking.
Anyone have some diagrams or pictures of how to set this up?
Steve

Steve:
Shoot me a direct e-mail and I will return some drawings...but it may well require that you make new trucks...

Great Bill; There's much interest in this as noted by the hits - well; Steve (and I and no doubt others) are too.... Give it all up Bill Shields!
Seriously, I looked around on the net to research this question and although there are diagrams and photos, there is nothing like experience - which you (Bill Shields) have. The data on the net on freight car braking systems is definitely not suitable for what a 1.5" / 2 1/2" (large scale) brake system entails - steam or air over manual.
Most interested too.... Thanks SteveM for the question - and thanks Bill Shields for an answer for Steve.... but may I get that data too?
Respectfully,
BC

That is great, but what do the truck linkages look like? Thanks, Kimball

Kimball,
Unless totaly and completely scale is desired, Tom Bee has a great design for air actuated and the hanger design is inside spread. Mr Shield's design will work that way too.

The 1918 Master Car Builders sheet that goes well with the sheet in the Railway Hardware Co plans. Also a photo of how I installed MCB style brakes on an arch bar truck.
