I'm trying to find some of the "gone" suppliers from this hobby. I've searched around a little and found just a little bit of info but not much. I'm curious if anybody knows the current status of, or where any of the parts/patterns are for:
Hickory Ridge
Klamath Loco & Machine
Rogers-Cooke
Superpower Detail
Mercer Loco (some was sold off?)
Winton Locomotive Works (went to Mammoth?)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Whatever happened to?

Re: Whatever happened to?
Dave S can respond relative to Hickory Ridge and Mercer Loco...
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
Re: Whatever happened to?
I contacted Mammoth about the Winton 1 1/2" line this past Summer. I was told they had sold it all off and as far as they know the guy who bought it has done nothing. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant and tried to be helpful. She said she could not give me any contact info, but, would try to contact the buyer and would get back to me if she had any success. I never heard from her. Possibly if you contact Mammoth you will have some success.Miserlou57 wrote:I'm trying to find some of the "gone" suppliers from this hobby. Re: Whatever happened to?
I would like to know where people get these ideas. Mercer is still in existence, never stopped. I am Mercer Locomotive one in the same. I sold some patterns to Hickory Ridge and he never paid me for them. He beat me and others out of money making me look like I did it. Customers thinking I used some other name for the business.
Live steamers tend to be gossipers, spreading false rumors never getting the true facts. This all happens without the companies owners knowing. Gossipers twisting the stories from one to the next. The live steam hobby is full of these types. I heard this and I heard that kind of thing.
BTW why do you want to know?

I tried to contact Mammoth about getting some 3" scale Winton castings earlier this year and got no response.
