That was quite an event here, in 1988.
I was not there, but the RR Fans were pretty stirred up about it.
Really amazing that the BN decided to use the 1070. They were so anti-steam then.

I was surprised at that myself. But then again, this subdivision exports lumber, grain, molasses, propane, garbage, and frozen berries/fish. I would imagine there was some goods within the "trapped" freight cars that needed to move, so the decision was made to allow #1070 to do it.
