Question for Bill Shields

Post by jscarmozza »

Bill, my buddy and I have a copy of your 1-1/2" scale Van Brocklin duplex pump plans, can they simply be re-dimensioned to 1" scale,or would something in the design have to change for the smaller components?

THEORITICALLY yes...however...

You cannot just shrink everything to 1" scale since some of the components do not 'scale' correctly and some of the hole clearances for passageways become really tight between 1 and 1-1/2"....which makes the valve timing a little bit off.

In reality, if you were to use the 3/4" scale pump, it will look just fine for a 1" loco...which is what most people did (do).

If you need the 3/4" PUMP drawings., send me an e-mail.

Too many things going on to bother listing them.
