Hey folks.
I’m looking to build a headlight for a 1/4 scale Case 65hp traction engine. Just wanted to see if anyone might happen to have either plans, or examples or traction engine style headlights.
Thanks a bunch, Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there,
Although not Canadian, and perhaps a bit smaller than what you have in mind, I have the design and construction details for the 1/4 scale lamps shown in the pictures below. Send me a PM if you would like me to Email them to you.
Best regards
Steve

Hi Steve, can you tell me a bit about your steam traction engine? It looks like a 3" or 4" Foster? We're does it live and when what's is built?? Here is our 4" Foster in Oklahoma. Thank you, Mike

If a generic 16" oil burning headlight will work versus something specific to Case, try this one from the Norfolk & western Historical Society. Their prices are reasonable and they offer quick service.

Hi Mike - your Foster looks great and they're an excellent and solidly reliable engine.
Not wishing to hijack the thread, in quick response the engine is the 3" Allchin "Ruby Swann" built in the 2000-2010 timeframe by the late Tony Meek in the UK. Tony's workmanship was superb, he won gold medal at the Model Engineer exhibition with his 1" scale Midland Single loco, and the Allchin was featured in Old Glory magazine in 2011. It's presently located in New Jersey and will make its first outing to the NJLS this spring.
Best regards
Steve

Thanks for the info. Steve, and congratulations on getting her out this year. I doubt anyone would complain if you posted pictures of her first outing.
