1st Generation UP Challenger tender?

Post by Mountaineer »

Have looked but not found any pics showing 1st generation UP 4-6-6-4's running with centipede tenders. Did they ever?

(Trying to find an excuse to make a centipede...)

Interesting! Google-fu didn't give me that data set. The UP numbers of first gen was 3900 thru 3939. Any one have pics?

Never say never, but I've never seen a picture of the light/early Challengers with a centipede. They were all delivered with semi-cylindrical. Be careful with the numbering indicating anything, as the light Challengers were renumbered in 1944 to 3800-3839 to make room on the roster for the modern Challengers, whose numbering began at 3930 - so there is a ten number overlap. That said, hey, if you want to make a centipede, do it!
